I am the daughter of Manuel A. Cadenas, a remarkable man whose memoir, Memories of a Journey Through Time, traces adventures in Cuba from the 1920s through the 1950s. Growing up, I witnessed firsthand the principles that shaped our family:

1. Reverence for God: My parents instilled in me a deep faith—a compass guiding my decisions and actions

2. Family Bonds: Our tight-knit family faced challenges together, whether it was leaving everything behind during the tumultuous 1960s or embarking on global adventures. The family was our anchor.

3. Education: Like my father, I pursued education relentlessly. His journey from rural Cuba to Phillips Academy at Andover and MIT inspired me to seek knowledge and excellence.

4. Persistence: My parents exemplified resilience in the face of adversity. Their unwavering determination fueled my pursuit of success.​

• As the design-construction manager for the University of Miami, I built the Diabetes Research Center at the Jackson Medical campus in Miami, Florida, from the ground up.
